Would you want to see new colors in the infrared or ultraviolet range?

Today's science news includes a report that scientists cured some monkeys of colorblindness (red-green) with gene therapy. Eventurally they may be able to cure humans. However, this particular type of monkey could not see those colors to start with! In theory other gene therapies ought to allow humans to see other parts of the spectrum. Would you want this? Why or why not?

Heck yeah! Assuming that I wouldn' t lose any of my current visual abilities and there was no othe risk to my health, it would be interesting to gain additional information from the environment. Imagine walking through the woods and being able to pick out birds and animals more easiy, or walking through high grass and seeing a rattlesnake earlier.
I think it would also add richness to the colors in my home and closet. Count me in!
