Due to deforestation and scrupulous behavior of the people living in the area to remove all forest plants for their home purpose. and lack of forecasting all the features for the development of barren land . plans are not prepared for the percolation of rain water, the catchment area not properly maintained for the flood water control . In Karnataka , Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. for all the causes is lack of education and sufficient knowledge on irrigation management.for the public as well as the rulers.

The flooding occurred after the release from the Nagarjunasagar Dam reached 10.5 lakh cusecs (cubic feet per second)(1). From Wikipedia(2):
"Nagarjuna Sagar Dam is the largest dam built in India, located between the cities of Hyderabad and Guntur of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in Nalgonda district, Andhra Pradesh (India). It is built on the Krishna River between Guntur and Nalgonda districts. It is one of the earliest hydro-electric projects of India."
