Is the 40 hr per week, 5 day a week, 8 hours a day work standard outdated??

Does this old standard affect our economy and could this be part of a cause for global warming?

I doubt that's a standard. It's talked about alot, but I have yet to have a job or know anyone (outside of a union) to have that kind of job.

I think the standard for a LONG time has been 60+ hours. Actually, the standard should be... work until you get the job done and don't burn yourself out.

Many folks do work those hours, but they may spend anywhere from 5-10 hours driving to get to and from work. 60 hours is definitely overdoing it, and may not be productive to your health and lifestyle.

It seems that Americans spend more time at work than they do with their families due to long work hours.
