When your booking a videographer or photographer for a wedding;
what is something you look for?

I currently run a small videography and photography company.
I offer great service with decent prices even with discounts across the board.

I have listed my site with over 30-40 free online wedding sites that link to my page.

What else can I do to boost my business without spending money.

Being a photographer myself, the best advertisement is happy clients. Word of mouth, references and professionalism.

Try to remember that the day isn't about you and what you have to offer, it's about memories captured forever at a price that fits within their budget.

Anything less and you cheapen the art for everyone. Anything more and you end up paying for your own efforts or creating results that detract or are unaffordable.

Avoid "discounts", just offer your work for what it's worth in your area. Be consistent so new clients can plan. Clients that are shopping for the cheapest photographer will regret it and take income away from photographers that consistently produce high quality work at prices that are commensurate. Don't sell yourself short or give the impression that quality is negotiable.

Use quality equipment and deliver what you promise. Get it in writing. Make sure to get a deposit and don't deliver the finished product until the final payment is received.

Use (rent if you can't buy) specific lenses to create a shallower depth of field (such as the Canon f/2.8 70-200mm L lens), adding blur in post makes some of the results shown on your website appear gimmicky even when they aren't.

Also make sure your spelling on your site is accurate. I didn't proofread your entire site but grammatical errors can detract from your professionalism. One instance of this is the phrase "show there day" when you meant to write "show their day".

When posting the link to your site use caps, http://FreedomInMotion. I had a hard time figuring out what your URL meant until I saw the page. Also make sure the links you allow others to post on your site are links to sites that you approve of and the links make sense. For example, one of your links says "Getting" and that's it. There may be an error in your HTML code using hyphens. The link is to getting-hitched.com.

Listing your site in as many places as possible is great. But only people in your area are likely to hire you for local weddings. Make sure that most of your link placement or SEO techniques tell people where you're located and show up when people do local searches.

Do a search here on Mahalo for "search engine optimization". There's some good information here.

Hope this helps! Wish you all the best in your pursuit of the craft. :)

Try and think of it from the couple's perspective first. They are usually under stress, time poor and sometimes on a tight budget.

I would suggest putting together a range of Wedding Packages with various prices and options. It can cut the couples stress of working out what they might want/need and if they can afford it.

Cheers
