Why do some deodorants stop working after using the same brand for a while?

Some deodorants just seem to lose their kick after using the same type for a sustained period of time. Is there a reason for this? Do your sweat glands build up an immunity?

If you continue to use the same deodorant for a prolonged time period, it will eventually stop working. This is because your body and sweat begins to break down the chemicals in the deodorant, and your body gets used to it and absorbs the deodorant. It's best you switch your deodorant every month or so. Some people have a few different deodorants, so this is problem does not happen.

You may want to try some deodorants such as Tend Skin Purefection or Nobo, as they both have no fragrance, but they get rid of the body odor. They work differently than the traditional deodorants that have fragrances.

Or you can try making your own Tend Skin as shown in the video below. This formula can be used as a deodorant as well.

If you like fragrance deodorants, ones to try:

• Great answer! I knew it had something to do with a built up tolerance, just didn't know the exact reasoning.

Ahh, I have a few different colognes, but never felt the need to get more than one deodorant. That's a great idea though.

I totally know what you're saying. I think your body does build an immunity if you use the same brand over and over. I change mine up every now and then and haven't had a problem. I heard that KLIMA anti-persperspirant is very good and lasts for days, but I've never personally tried it.

I think I would be scared to use a deodorant that claimed it lasted for days. With my luck, I'd be out in public on the afternoon of day two and would smell to all high heaven!

Lasts for days huh? The anti-perspirant might, but the deodorant probably wouldn't. I love not betting all sweaty, but I love smelling good even more.
