Site Suggestion: Daily Limit Statistics
I don't know if the current system is capable of this or not... but we currently have daily limits on things for each belt level. For example, me with a purple-brown can ask 17 questions, give 80 answers, and vote 70 times (amongst other things) each day. But some days I'm on a roll of answering or voting (or whatever) and I know I'm getting close to my belt limit, but I really have no idea where I am.
I'd love a feature that shows a tally of our daily usage, such as
Today (July 30, 2009)
Questions: 3 Out of 17
Answers: 26 Out of 80
Votes: 68 Out of 70
This would be particularly useful on high-usage days. I've had times when I know I'm approaching a limit, but I'm really not sure. There are a series of 4 or 5 questions I want to ask. I don't know if I have the ability to ask them all, or whether I can just ask one, or even none! Same goes for answers; I might have a few lined up but I'm not sure if I need to prioritize or not. If you know you have only 3 left, you can plan out a little better what you are going to ask and answer, and avoid the pointless and unimportant questions and instead answer ones your are knowledgeable and can be thorough about.
I know there are a few issues with real time statistics, but would this be possible? Does anyone even think it's a good idea?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

It shouldn't be to hard, if you look in your recent activity there are already all of your different answers and questions, meaning that each of these are in a database somewhere.
Accessing this database shouldn't be to hard, and depending on how it is set up, may be extremely simple to do.
The only people who could do it would be the developers however

Of course! But like, you know how rankings and things like that are only updated once daily? Is that because having it in real time would affect the speed? I wonder if we'd run into the same issues with this since it would have to be in real time to be useful...
Also, just to let everyone know, this posted twice for some reason - the tipped question can be found here http://www.mahalo.com/answers/mahalo-answers-suggestions/site-suggestion-daily-limit-statistics-1
Please answer it on the other page but I'll look at these too and tip if appropriate!
I doubt it would affect the speed much, if at all, it would be interesting if the web site developers answered as they know much more about the structure than we do. But as am amateur web developer I doubt it would slow down the site
