Well, I don't know if we can call him a power hitter yet. Yes, he has hit more home runs than he ever has in the past (previous high for HRs in a year was 3, and he already has 5 this year). But still, he has only hit five home runs in 156 at bats - that's one every 31 at bats or so--not really what a power hitter should be doing.
Having said that, it's still a nice bonus for Cubs fans that he's hitting better. Especially for someone who doesn't cost the club too much money.
