As the word "cool" is the core of the question I have to go with The Most Interesting Man in the World.
Going for "marked by steady dispassionate calmness and self-control" http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/cool
The Most Interesting Man in the World, oozes cool in his sharp outfit and calm manner.

Going for slang cool is "Very Good" this guy had me laughing my butt off on multiple occations. This is going to be a loved and talked about campain for a long time. Old Spice shows that they get social media and it is paying off big time.

The Old Spice Guy is wearing a towel, while The Most Interesting Man in the World is wearing a suit.
Unless we assume the bathroom he is in is particularly warm cleary Old spice Guy is cooler.
"Moderately cold: lacking in warmth"

M$Point 1: He is alot less silly.
The old spice man is funny because of his unrealistic tangents, that if you put an hours worth of thought into you could probably write yourself. Also Old spice mans commecials are outlandish and attention grabbing, this I don't like, I enjoy the dry witty one liners like "He has been known to cure narcolepsy by walking into a room"
Point 2: The Dos Equis man is simply an Advertising character.
I don't think commercials are that funny, so when they go outside of the commercial world and start competing with the rest of the world of humor they lose value quickly. Yes his youtube videos are funny, but not hilarious, Its hard to compete with the internet when it comes to funny. As far as television commercials, the only ones that make me smile are Dos Equis.
Point 3. Dos Equis man is much more realistic.
Even though he is outlandish, there is no special effects that go into his character, he is just a funny sounding pretentious man. The voice of both characters seems to be where they compare evenly to me, really it's one of the only things i think is funny about him. He does not have to rely on weird tangents and funny visuals.
Final Point: You have to be paying attention to see why the Dos Equis man is funny, the Old Spice man would make a child laugh with the fast motions and loud voice, so this is really not my style of humor.
This video has terrible quality and is a little laggy on my computer, but i suppose the audio is really what matters.

M$Regretfully I'd say Dos XX in all areas. Who jumps in freezing water? Who feeds eagles on a cliff? Not the best looking fellow I'm sure. I may laugh at the commercial's canny unrealistic approach, but they are both unrealistic and the Dos XX guy seems a lot more cool and interesting; especially that he is sure not to get too drunk around the ladies (high fives the Dos Equis guy). "Drink responsibly"
By the way.... I don't drink alcohol, lol.
