Bruce Le vs. Jet Li - who would win in this martial arts match of honor?

In the left corner, Bruce Le, martial arts legend and entertainment superstar. In the right corner, Jet Li, a Bruce contemporary outfitted with lightning quick fists and 2010 techniques. After the bell rings, who will emerge victorious?

Neither!

Chuck Norris would sneak up behind both of them and round house their ass'.

Without a doubt it will be Bruce Lee (not Le). Jet Li is good but is no where close to the founder of Jeet Kune Do (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeet_Kune_Do) himself. BTW, Chuck Norris was a student of Bruce Lee so the honors has to go not only for Chuck himself but for the master.

Jet Li has always seemed to me to be a dirtier fighter. I know Bruce Lee has a great highlight reel of punishing opponents as well, but I think Li would go the extra mile. Jet Li, even at his most baby face, felt like a mean guy to me.

I love Bruce Lee, but Jet is my man.

I think that f we judged on intensity alone, Bruce Lee is unparalleled!

No doubt Jet Li would win--- if you could get him to beat up on a cold, rotting corpse.

Well, if they were to test their strength against each other today, I'd have to go with Bruce Lee. It's VERY hard to survive against the undead. =P

Bruce Lee loses in terms of winning officially sanctioned fights. Chuck Norris was an international Karate middleweight champion for six years. Jet Li was a wushu prodigy who won fiften gold medals in the Chinese wushu championships. Bruce Lee was a high school boxing champion in Hong Kong.

There are so many myths surrounding Bruce Lee, but if they are to be believed, he was the bada%% of bada%%es in streetfighting. His parents were rich and famous in Hong Kong, but he was said to spend his youth fighting street thugs. Doesn't make a convincing story. (Wikipedia is filled with such stories. Keep in mind that many of them were told after Bruce Lee had become a household name around the world.)

If there's one thing that can't be argued, it is that Bruce Lee went the greatest lengths to become a potentially killing machine, through experimental nutrition and fitness programs. He later became poisoned by his own quest for perfection, but before he did so, he defined fitness like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Bruce Lee introduced overall fitness to the world of martial arts showcasing it through his physique and moves.

I learned from Bruce Lee's writings that sparring, not drills, win fights. You can't master distance and timing from the most sophisticated punching bags fighters have seen. Many great boxers flock to great coaches for the wider availability of quality sparring mates, not for the coaching.

Add the fact that Bruce Lee studied all the major known forms of martial arts of his time, and I'm convinced that Bruce would have won a real life fight against Chuck or Jet. Chuck had a size advantage, but speed kills, as demonstrated in the latest fights of Manny Pacquiao and late Edwin Valero in the ring against much bigger guys. If you watch the fight scene (below) in the Colosseum between Bruce and Chuck, you'll know what I mean.

My buddy Jet practices a "no contact" form of martial arts. Wushu was considered too fatal to enter the ring. Look at Jet Li's smile, he doesn't look like he has been in any real life street fight. There is no way Jet could have won a fight against Bruce, but Jet is the champion to those who practice the most defensive and least offensive modern form of martial arts.

I am a fan of Bruce Lee and Jet Li as well but if I were to compare their martial arts techniques and prowess, I believe that Bruce Lee will win because he is a master on and off screen as well. He knows all the martial arts techniques and this does not satisfy him and so he created his own style. He has originality and he has taught many good martial artists as well like James Coburn, Steve McQueen, Roman Polanski, Chuck Norris, Tom Tannenbaum and many more. Bruce Lee is a legend that is a model worth emulating and inspired many other martial artists.
