Not necessarily, a fever is part of the body's natural immune response. The hypothalamus raises your body temperature in order to make it inhospitable to the invading bacteria or viruses. If a fever is too high, it can be quite dangerous and requires immediate medical attention. A low grade fever however, can actually help your body rid itself of pathogens.
