Should we filter anonymous questions?

Basically what I am noticing is that a terribly large amount of anonymous questions; aren't questions at all, don't make much sense, and/or are incomplete. Should we have the wait for approval from a moderator on anonymous questions? Are there Mods willing to do this? Am I just focusing on the negative, or are other people noticing the same thing? Would we need voulteers to help approve the large number of anonymous questions? I'm willing to do it, because personally I feel the useless anonymous questions are hurting or could hurt the community when people need to sort through the rubbish. Thats not to say there aren't good ones too but the bad ones are the ones I am talking about.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Hi @aw - Mahalo 3.0 was released earlier this week and it's created a large influx of new users kicking the tires - We have been working around the clock ensuring that all nonsensical questions get removed shortly after they are posted.

So we ask the MA veterans to be super patient with this, and use the "Report" button within the question, if you see a bad question that might have slipped by our radar.

With that said Mahalo Answers is part of the Mahalo 3.0 update and will be getting a major facelift soon and it will indeed include filters.

While nonsense questions should be removed, I don't think that there should be censorship on any questions I like the idea that people can ask questions on whatever without feeling embarrassed, for example someone young kid recently asked what the difference between soft and hardcore porn is. I would have loved it when I was a kid if I had a place to ask all those questions anonymously, you know all those questions that you could never ask your friends or family. Kids are going to grow up a lot smarter as long as we can manage to not censor questions too much. If the question just doesn't ,make any sense at all does it even matter if it is removed people will just ignore it.

Yes, we should be able to filter out anonymous questions. It's not only that so many are bad, but even the good ones don't provide needed interaction and clarification.

Hopefully after enough complaints Mahalo will stop the test until it has filters ready.

Yes, I have seen a ton of those kinds of "questions" being posted every minute. I have been going through and reporting them.

One of the biggest problems is that some questions are actually real ones, but they lack a lot of information needed to answer the question as best as possible.

I noticed that someone from the staff is cleaning them up right away and that is awesome.

I wonder what role they had before they had to take out the rubbish? Probably something more important ... yes they clean them up fairly quickly and they must be working hard because they have a lot to clean up
