Should we be able to vote our own questions interesting?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

So it wouldn't have much effect on which questions are ranked as most interesting, or help people find interesting questions which is the point of the voting system.
I guess where it could have a use is if someone asked a tipped question, and then later felt they needed to increase the tip. Then voting it interesting with a sizable extra tip could be a way of achieving that.

"It would be nice to have an "increase tip" option, as well as the option to "add a tip" to an untipped question. I've wanted to do that a few times." I agree

Wow...I just now noticed that we can't go back and add a tip to our own questions. I thought we could do this in the past. That may be the only real benefit that I see from this. Another thing might perhaps be the added point that you would get for voting the question up.....I am not sure if this would open the door to more abuse all for the sake of a few extra points here and there or if it would just be an added benefit of asking questions, since there are no points for that given now. I personally don't see the point in asking a slue of questions simply for the sake of having more points and advancing in belt levels, but we have people here with that kind of mindset.
Interesting points. I am not sure if *everyone* would vote their own questions interesting however, since they have to actually tip to do so. Maybe there should be a minimum amount for voting your own question interesting, say M$2? My motivation for asking this was wanting to increase a tip on a question. :)
