I researched your question on a couple of different sites and they do recommend refrigerating tubed wasabi after opening. One site in particular said that some people complain that the paste is too thick to squeeze from the tube after refrigeration and they recommend you can cut the end of the tube off. However, I would recommend rolling the tube between the palms of your hand to "warm" it and make it easier to squeeze. (see illustration)
