Should the Whole of Copenhagen Be Lit up in Honor of Hans Christian Andersen?

While I think Hans Christian Andersen made a wonderful contribution to Danish literature, European literature and children's literature as a whole, we are trying to save energy so the world lasts a little longer and all those lights sounds like a surefire way to burn fossil fuels. Surely there are other ways to celebrate? How about the whole of Copenhagen dresses in an Andersen costume instead?

Since Denmark has the highest rate of wind power use in the world--currently at about 20%, and they intend to increase it to 50% by 2025--I think if they want to light it up on his birthday, they've got a renewable resource to do it with.

All the time? No. That would definitely be overkill. And who could sleep?
