Should the Senate amend the Unemployment Extension bill to cover all Americans?

Tip for best answer: M$0.37

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I don't (DO NOT) understand the rationale for granting the unemployment extension payments to only certain states........doesn't everyone who is unemployed need the funds? Are we not a UNITED STATES and we all bleed the same red blood and all pay taxes to the same government. Are unemployed Americans not as worthy as AIG, Bank of America, etc? To grant across-the-board unemployment benefits to all states would be a drop in the bucket compared with of all the so called "bail-out" money. Where did the "bail-out" money come from in the first place -- the American Taxpayer. I think it is time that all of the American unemployed are "bailed out."

Of course the government should extend this bill to cover all American citizens. The government and the government alone is to be blame for the hardships most of its citizens is facing right now. If the previous administration had put the right policies and measures in place most likely the citizens would not have to face so much financial burden and pressures. Most citizens at this point do not have the finances and employment opportunities to see them ride out this tumultuous period in their lives and the government is the only organization that they can turn to. The government cannot turn a blind eye to its citizens who needs the assistance. Also more priority should be paid to the people instead of the big companies and the businesses.

The current bill only covers high employment states-- should it be amended before passage to cover all states, regardless of the unemployment rate?

I Totally Agree with your responce about the big businesses we should be bailing out all US citizens before EVER bailing out businesses or incorporations.

It is good to have for emergency necessities. Job recession is pretty violent a war . Good the senate is looking to more inner questions answered for the people. Making people lazy is not good. But help is needed. Help and at least pre-part time to part time to full time employment can be established. Gov't appointed jobs earn more with more work from the citizen ,progress reports . so many issues in this field alone.

We needed unemployment extenison at 6%, So why would'nt we need it now. This is just an excuse not to help people in texas saying the unemployment rate is not at 8.5. Why wait until it get to that point you all like seeing texas suffer. We need our government to help us like they help the car dealership. They did'nt need any help to keep filling up their pocket. Dealership act like they were broke, so they could get money from the tax payer to pay themself. The Governor of texas is not doing anything to help the unemployed people.Gov. Rick Perry let texas down. He is only concern about the rich not the poor working people. Please go vote.
