Should the next Survivor reality TV series take place in a mine?

Just seems like a tougher deal than some island paradise.

Honestly, I dont' think that they would be able to do that. There are too many legal issues that would have to be cleared for that one, along with the fact of the psychological issues that have been proven to be caused to people that are not able to physically be outside for a matter of more than a few weeks.

Notice that all of the miners down in Chile have to be in teh hospital for at least two weeks before they go back home. During that time, there will be psychologists checking them out with separation issues, and some of the common side effects from not being able to be outside.

If you notice, most states require prisoners in the prison system at least an hour outside each day. This, again, is due to the number of psychological, and psychosymatic issues that a lack of outside exposure can cause. Not allowing a person out of the cell, ever, is considered by many as not only cruel and unusual, but also as torture.

There is a UN stipulation that POWs are required to have access to the outside at least once a day for this reason. ONe of the charages that came up about Guantanamo Bay was the fact that some prisoners would go for a week or more without having a chance to step outside.

In a nutshell, to answer your queston - No.

What about the people who lock themselves away for scientific experiments, like those Martian experiments where you can't contact the outside world?

Mine you I think you're right from a safety point of view. Very few areas are tectonically stable. Even Australia, which is an old and considered stable continent, has earthquakes which could cause a cave-in....yikes!

I have to say no. too enclosed for the different challenges and if you put all the people in one dark, damp place then it would get exceptionally boring and where would they hide the immunity idols.

Yes, that sounds like it would make an interesting show. They would have to have a safe and easy way to get them out though. I could see people having a hard time getting along with each other. I agree that it would be tougher than an island. It might be hard in the way that they can't look for food. I would certainly not want to be on this show, but would enjoy watch it.
