What needs fixing is that the French version (which are different lyrics) are blatantly pro-Christian. Something should be done about that.
Meanwhile, at least it's not impossible for ordinary people to sing, the way the Star Spangled banner is. Having an anthem that only professionals can sing is embarrassing. I still remember getting together with fellow students long ago and we Americans were unable to sing our own anthem, while students from other countries had no problem.
