Should Pete Rose be inducted into the Hall of Fame?
Pete Rose lied about his betting on baseball and did some time in jail for tax evasion, but after all these years that the all time leader in hits in Major League Baseball will never get into the Hall of Fame. Others with worse offenses have made it, why not Rose?

I think Pete Rose should make the Hall of Fame for his accomplishments on the baseball field. He is the all time hits leader with 4,256. That alone should qualify him for the Hall of Fame. He did his time, has been banned from all Major League Baseball activities for many years. People do less time in jail for serious offenses than Rose has been banned from baseball. People from the steroid era of baseball such as Mark McGwire, Rafael Palmiero and others are not getting votes because of their use of banned substances to cheat and enhance their performance. That is completely different from what Rose did. Yes he did bet on games, but that did not affect or enhance his performance on the field. Furthermore he bet on his team to win, never to lose, so it's not as if he threw games. It's time for Rose to be elected amongst the best players to ever play Major League Baseball.
