I'm not sure he could do stand-up. I think too much of what comes out of his mouth would go over people's heads unless they are the type to follow TWiT podcasts. That, and he shares a sense of humor with my boyfriend - it takes too long to get and offends too many people along the way. And he lacks the immediate hilarity of Lewis Black in his way of being grumpy.
I would, however, watch a show of John C Dvorak walking down the street telling jokes to unsuspecting people with a camera focused on the faces of his victims.

M$Do I really think he should be a comedian though? No, because I don't think he would be successful.
After hearing his jokes on countless episodes of TWiT and other podcasts I think it takes a lot of time to learn his sense of humor. He is sharp and always has a quick response, but I don't think many people will understand some of his more obscure references. Most people don't have the patience to get into a new comedian, they expect to laugh right away.
