Should I wait to file my 2008 tax return until the Obama stimulus is passed?

Will there be any tax benefits for individuals?
Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

If there are, they will certainly be for the coming tax year. I don't believe it's within his power to suddenly change the rules for what is a complete 2008. There will already be people who have submitted their returns.

You are paying taxes on income earned in 2008, so whenever the stimulus checks arrive, (June?) it will count on the tax form you fill out next year, not this year.
