Should I even look in the NSFW category while I am at at work? What's in there?

Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I try not to for a couple of reasons:

A. Could be nudity/vulgarity involved. (Not so bad unless people often walk behind you at work).
B. The link could send you to a site that is restricted on your intranet, thus causing your IT department to be flagged that you attempted to access it.
C. It could lead to some very embarrassing (and loud) audio. I always keep headphones plugged in and my speakers off. (Just as a precaution)
D. If its something that seems interesting just bookmark the site it starts from or email yourself a link for later.

Good Luck!

NSFW is short for "Not Safe for Work" - So we recommend you do not look into that category while you are in an environment where you could get in trouble for browsing inappropriate material

Advice, wouldn't do it.

You never know what could be in there. Better to not take the risk.

If you are:
a) An employee, not worth the risk to be reprimanded or fired, right?
b) An employer, should you not be leading by example?

:)

In my experience, most of these NSFW links go to pages that have nudity or sexual content. ..Given that such sites have a higher tendency to contain malicious code used to infect vulnerable PC's, these sites can be considered NSFW for two reasons.

If you feel you might get in trouble for viewing such content on your work PC, or are in an area where others can see your screen, you're probably best just to avoid NSFW links. (This is generally what is meant by "not safe for work")

If you're not sure how you'd be able to explain to the IT people how you got some virus or trojan on your machine while you were viewing naked pics of [some famous celebrity], again, probably best to avoid such links.

Hope that helps.

At the moment, there are three questions. All very innocent, I wouldn't watch any of the videos though. :) (I even checked it at work!)

So if you are at work you can ask and get a description of what's in there:) This is safe for work!

Yeah, just wait til you get home tonight and then check it out. I'm sure there's nothing horrible in there, but it's always better to play it safe than to have your boss catch you looking at inappropriate stuff.
