Should i claim an existing movie page that doesn't have the word "movie" or should i request to do a page with the word "movie"?

ok, I am looking to claim my first page. I am new to this so please bare with me. :)

Let's say the movie is "ABC" (it's not). There is an existing page that I can claim that just has ABC but it pulls in too many things to the page that have nothing to do with the movie.

Should I claim that page? Would I be able to change the search terms within the page for Twitter, videos, images, questions etc so that it pulls in things about the movie and not unrelated things? Or should I request to do a page for "ABC movie"? Which is the better choice.

Also, if i request the page on "ABC movie" and it is approved; should I link to the "ABC" page?

Please help. :)

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

It really depends on the Movie.

If the Movie is a term that has other meanings we do want to have the term "Movie" on the page. - A good example is Independence Day and Independence Day Movie

However if the movie has a unique title, such as Good Will Hunting - Leaving out the term "Movie" is OK.

At the end of the day, if you are going to be the page Manager it will be entirely up to you, adding the term "Movie" might actually be helpful in regards to attracting search engine traffic especially if you notice the page is currently pulling in unrelated content.

Naturally, you can always DQ a staff member on the specific movie you are interested in and we'll be able to help you out.

Is there more than a movie for the movie? Like is there a book/tv series/etc? If so request it with the word movie. That's what they had me do with The Last Unicorn I did both the book and the movie the Book says just The Last Unicorn as it was published first and the movie The Last Unicorn (movie) which is still under review.

However if there isn't more than just the movie I think I'd just claim the existing page. If there's only that one just be sure to use movie often in the page though most people who search movies don't type ABC movie unless there is more than the movie. The title should still be your primary key word.

I do know you can edit the twitter, etc to different search terms as asked by editing that section.

Thanks for your help. Now all I need to do is actually make the move and start managing pages! I just need to claim one and get it done right and that will give me the confidence to claim more pages. Wish me luck. :)
