Should I buy a 1080i or 1080p camcorder?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Let's look at the difference for 1080i and 1080p.
The 'i' means Interlaced. This means that when you record a video, it scans first the 540 odd lines, then it scans the 540 even lines, then combine them together, which makes up 1080 lines.
The 'p' means Progressive. This means that when you record a video, it scans from line 1 up to line 1080, without skipping them. This will creates a smooth picture and hence better in performance and quality. The downside of this will be the cost of the camcorder as it is more expensive, and also the file size will be bigger and hence you need a bigger storage place to store your video clips.
