QVC has a selection of white Christmas trees, including lighted and upside down. I don't get the upside down thing. You can sign up for their e-mails and catch a deal when they are having their decorating shows.

In the 12th century, especially in Europe, it became customary to hang fir trees upside down to symbolize the Holy Trinity.
The upside down trees were also concidered the symbol of Christianity.

In recent years the artifical upside down Christmas trees were introduced to retailers for store displays.
By useing these display trees hung upside down the retailers are able to display more ornaments at eye level, the best location for the buying public's view.
Plus by utilizing this type of display tree it leaves more floor space available for display purposes or to hold additional stock of decorations.
Seems the idea caught on with alot of people as a novelty and a pratical solution for those with small children and pets.
By hanging the tree upside down from a bracket on the ceiling you can keep most of those heirloom ornaments that great grandma passed down out of the reach of little hands.
Those of us with pet dogs and cats know all to well how they love to play 'ring around the xmas tree' tails wagging, knocking treasured ornaments off. With an upside down tree those ornaments are safely above the tail zone.
Plus imagine how many more presents you can pile up with all that extra space.
Retailers such as Hammacher Schlemmer's find it difficult to keep these novel christmas trees in stock.

Thanks for the information. The ornaments sure do look better. Wonder what my cats would do with an upside down tree. Looks even more tempting then the right side up variety.

I bought an artificial Christmas tree from http://www.christmaslightsetc.com/white-artificial-christmas-trees.htm last year and it was way better in quality over any of the trees I have ever seen on the shelves any where. Plus you still get free shipping on all Christmas trees!
