You can try visiting shops which fall under your favorite category. For example, if you are a technical guy, then you can try visiting some computer or camera or cellphone shops and you can learn the new arrivals.

Some malls put up a huge television. You can entertain yourself by watching it.

Or else, you can take a music player and a book and try reading the book while listening to music. This would be a great method to time-pass.

If you don't like time passing, you can leave your spouse and children for shopping and you can go out and look after any minor works you got. You can ask your spouse to call you after the shopping is completed. But I recommend you stay with them and help them with their shopping, because it would make them happy and you will come to know about their likes and dislikes.
