658 Queen Street West
They also have a large selection of books, patterns, and good prices on good wool.
The Naked Sheep is a little too hip for my liking, but the selection is decent.
2144A Queen Street East, in the Beaches.
You can also try The Yarn Boutique.
1719 Bloor Street West
I haven't been to The Naked Sheep or The Yarn Boutique in a while, so maybe call ahead to confirm hours/location, etc. But I have heard they are still alive and kicking.

I am an avid crocheter, hope you enjoy making artwork in a dying art. I try to share chrocheting with anyone who will sit still long enough. Attached is a really nice site that list several places you can purchase crocheting supplies. As I am not sure where you live exactly, I thought this would give you options. Actually found several patterns I bookmarked for me to do later as I was looking for this for you. Happy Crocheting. http://yarnshoptoronto.blogspot.com/

You can always try Walmart. They usually have reasonably priced crochet hooks. I bought all my hooks from there. I live in scarborough. The walmart in Agincourt mall is my favorite one. Check in the craft/seasonal section for crochet hooks.
