Do you think Wade Edwards was justified in shooting his 16 year old daughter's boyfriend after catching them having sex?

In the recorded 911 call released earlier this morning, Wade Edwards, the step-father of a 16 year old girl, claimed that he was acting in self-defense and was "scared for his life" when he allegedly shot his daughter's 18 year old boyfriend in the testicles. He reportedly walked n on them having sex when he came home from work and heard noises coming from the daughter's bedroom. Mr. Edwards gives the impression that he did not know the boy, thought he was an intruder, and claims to be protecting his daughter. But officers at the scene claim that the outraged step-father, after entering the daughter's bedroom, went back downstairs, grabbed a .45 caliber handgun and a handful of bullets, went back upstairs and shot the boy four times after the boy reportedly put his hands in the air and shouted, "Please, don't shoot!"

No I think he is an over protective dad who can't let his daughter go, let alone understand that when kids grow up...sex becomes a topic...and a normal thing on the brain...I think the father was in the wrong, if he was so shocked he should of just yelled "get off my daughter and out of my house"...but shooting him in the nads? No...uncalled for...

Now thinking the boyfriend was an intruder...My first instinct if I thought that would be to get him off my daughter not run back and get a gun...I would be so worried what would happen while I was gone...I wouldn't be able to leave.

I seriously doubt Wade Edwards was "scared for his life" and probably reacted out of his sense of entitlement, which includes controlling access to his daughter.

As a woman, I think he should be prosecuted for manslaughter, because he couldn't possibly have been fearful of a fellow found "enflagrante delicto", or what ever the term is.

How threatening is someone caught "mid-coitus"?
