Which of Shakespeare's sonnets mocks other poets / another poet (doens't have to be a poem of the Rival-Poet-Group) ?
In today's English class my teacher came across the topic "Shakespeare's sonnets" (since I'm German, this topic is quite unsual for students of the 11. grade). He mentioned a special sonnet in which Shakespeare makes fun of other poets / one other poet or even mocks other poets' sonnets. I really love Shakespeare's sonnets and I already checked the web and my Oxford Shakespeare but I couldn't find the "right sonnet" (my teacher didn't know the number and couldn't possibly remember some part of the poem). Hopefully you could help me to find the sonnet that he refers to.
I checked the sonnets 78 - 86 (rival poet group) because my teacher said that the sonnet is used to mock other poets' sonnets. He didn't mention if the sonnet was adressed to another poet or if Shakespeare just tried to make fun of other poets in general. (My teacher told me that in Shakespeare's time there was something like a book of "beauty" including many "beautiful" sayings, images, words, metaphors, etc. and that other poets sticked to that book and ended up with sonnets that weren't unique or creative at all. So Shakespeare would critisize those poems or whatever). My teacher also said that the sonnet was kind of funny and entertaining.
So if you would like to make a suggestion, I'd be very grateful !
Thanks in advance.
