Severe procrastination, need motivation!!!
This is getting silly, you see. I've had a blog (on Blogger) for a year now and although I've written bits and bobs, it's just not regular enough for me to even call it a blog :s

I have plenty of ideas, but my mind wanders so easily and I have trouble staying in one place or on one site for any length of time...
Incidentally, that's why I like the "snippety" nature of sites like Mahalo ;) You can come here for five minutes if you want, or you can stay all day!
So, back to the point - how should I start to effectively manage my blog, write in it AT LEAST every other day and STOP PROCRASTINATING??!
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

dont write about anything write about something that gets you fired up.
Like this. You are at the grocery store. you are tired but this is the only time to get this done so you trudge on. you come across a woman with a 3 year old in the buggy. he is fussy and tired and dirty because he had been playing hard all day. You notice him because he is so whiney that you want to tell him to hush up (of course you don't) But just when you thought you couldnt take it anymore you look up and happen to see his mother hit him very hard. what do you do? how do you feel?
We have all seen this. this happened to me a few weeks ago. I contronted her and told her she was wrong. I know none of my business. but she hauled off and hit this kid because he was crying. So did it make him stop? NOT!
I am passionate about how our children are being treated. I do believe in corporal punishment after every thing else has been done. Most of the time i get it solved before we get to that point.
My point is write about what impassions you. what riles you. then getting your message out becomes important.

M$Just write when you have free time! Write about if life is going good, or crapping on you, write about college, your cats, pros and cons, rants about Mahalo, anything!

M$"Is keeping this blog going something you really want to do or something that you think you should do?"
Something I really want to do. Why would I think I "should" write a blog?
"Are you really talking about one blog or all of them? Why do you have so many? Are your blogs really that different from each other and is there any reason why you couldn't combine some of them into just one or two?"
I see it as one blog divided into different topics.
"If you know you have a scattered mind, and that many blogs certainly seems to prove it, then they're dividing your attention and energy way too much."
Again, I see it as one blog divided into different topics and that has nothing to do with a scattered mind. It's called organisation.
"I've been there, done that"
I didn't ask for anyone to be a know-it-all, I asked for advice. Such an abrupt answer was completely unnecessary.
Just because someone knows less than you do about something doesn't mean you should talk down to them.
Especially when I'm the object of your dressing-down - I don't take kindly to patronisation.
I wasn't talking down to you. I thought that helping you analyze the problem might get you to why you're procrastinating. People start blogs because it's popular or their friends talk them into it, all boiling down to "should." "Been there, done that" was intended to let you know I've gone through the same thing. Thanks so much for greeting my very first answer with such misinerpretation and hostility.
I was offended by your comments and I told you so.
I would have said the same to a black belt or anyone else.
I never speak (or type) without thinking about it first and looking over your answer again, it still riles me.
Enjoy Mahalo, I'm sure we're both adult enough not to let this altercation get in your way here.
@jillbeth Luckily for me I'm 19 and don't have kids yet - so I have no excuse! Haha ;p
I have problem with procrastination myself. I have been working from home for about four years now. Having to punch a time clock for 25 years kept me in line, but when you are your own boss, it's easy to put things off for later. So I have put myself on a schedule and stick to it (try to anyway!). Tell yourself that you WILL write this blog every day at a certain time, and don't let yourself off the hook for anything but an emergency! I find I do my best writing early in the morning while my mind is still fresh, so I do that first thing before the rest of the day gets in the way. Choose the time of day that you are free from distractions (but if you have kids, that's NEVER unless they're asleep) and know that when you accomplish what you set out to you, it's a great feeling!
