FYI-
I worked in that building from 1999-2001 at UBO and Martha Stewart moved in and occupies the entire 9th floor.
I went there for a client meeting in 2006 and it is completely different-
the lobby is all glass and marble ans sterile.
That same mexican/diner place is still next door though.
$50???
there is like 2 inches of snow and still coming down_an idiot would do it for that much.

Question
M$50

Task: Take an HD Video of the building I used to live in and post it online. (in Manhattan)
I'm trying something new on Mahalo Answers... a dare! OK, not really a dare, but a task. I'd like to take a video in HD of the building I used to live in: 601 west 26th street starrett leigh building in New York City.
I'd like a couple of minutes of video of the front of the building and where the building looks out on the Hudson river. I used to live on the 3rd floor (which is really like the fifth floor because the first two are the parking garage and lobby levels).
Anyway, I was the third set of ribbon windows.
I'd like an HD video of various parts of the building just to see what it looks like now. I know it's changed a lot since i was there in the late 90s.
Post the footage on Vimeo under a creative commons share with everyone license.

This is a great idea/task; however, it should be more broad based. Unless you are going to do it for every state (i.e. find a building in your city and shot some HD video of it and submit it). I understand the task and why your are doing, but I think you should make it more fair.

It seems fair enough to me. I am bummed that I can't do it because a) I'm in Georgia and b) I don't have an HD video camera, but I think anyone should be free to ask whatever question they want and offer whatever tip they choose, as long as it's legal. The idea of a kind of scavenger hunt seems exciting. I'm not too sure about using Answers as a kind of freelance vector, but either way I just hope I get a chance at a M$50 tip... I could use the $! =)

no, the point is, Jason is willing to pay $50.00 for someone to go shoot the video he requested.
Now, the people in the area with video cameras need to decide: 1) is it worth going out in the snow? and 2) will someone else put up a better video than I can?
This task is probably better suited to the Amazon Mechanical Turk, but Jason doesn't own that (yet.) Plus: i think he'd have to offer more than $50.00 to get it done there.
But, this is an interesting idea for anyone. Wouldn't a nice picture or video of the house you grew up in as it looks today be an interesting gift for your parents? (assuming they've moved away, that might be creepy when they get a gift proving that some random internet photographer was stalking them!)

Your building is most likely on Google Street View, if you weren't aware. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=601+west+26th+street+starrett+leigh&sll=37.020098,-95.625&sspn=61.845747,113.203125&ie=UTF8&ll=44.840291,-71.630859&spn=0,303.398438&t=h&z=4&iwloc=A&layer=c&cbll=40.751025,-74.006173&panoid=mRdB98KKuG2Ro9DqTWvlPw&cbp=12,99.16897692428222,,0,-12.376656311221353
