I'm really glad you raised this question as all issues connected with intellectual property are simply a mine field these days.
Often times we don't need to go into a full blown law suit if we can only ask a specialized lawyer for advice or in many instances a legal letter also will do the job.
I've found a very good website searching on Google, here you can ask your questions directly online and get further local help if necessary:
