I beleve AVG is the better suite, especially if you are running the free versions. The free version of AVG includes everything you need to protect your computer from the basic dangers out there, like viruses, and spyware, while the free version of Zone Alarm is just a firewall. If you are paying for the full versions, AVG is still a better buy because Zone Alarm sometimes has issues that I have experienced. For instance, many users report that Zone Alarm's vsmon.exe service acts up on occasion.
