What is the best free all-in-one anti adware/spyware/malware/virus program?

I recently contracted a very persistent strain of malware and viruses. I currently am using Ad-Aware 2008, and Avira Antirus. These two programs have been unsuccessful at removing the problems. What are some others I should try? I'm not beyond buying a solid application if it's relatively inexpensive and will do the trick.

I don't really think there's a best free all-in-one for that. For adware you always have the free versions of SpyBot Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware, but I wouldn't let my computer in the hands of any antivirus other than Kaspersky AV, even though it's not free.

Try this for a change: scan your computer online. It's free and you can even compare the results with other solutions.

AVG I'm pretty sure does everything.

or for Spyware I'd go for SpyBot Search & Destroy or even Windows Defender.

For Antivirus - Avast.

Your pretty brave if you are going to let a virus-infected computer connect to the internet. even if it is to run a scan. A virus can't do much if it can't communicate with its creator. I never let my computer online until it has AV software installed and is squeaky clean.

Who says he is downloading these programs from the infected computer? It is quite possible to download them on another computer. Plus its a bit late to say don't connect it to the internet, the damage has already been done.

The reason you shouldn't connect a virus infected computer to the internet is that the virus many times will search your computer for personal information and sent that to its creator, putting your identity at risk. When a computer is infected with a virus, the damage has just begun.

Well I am and have been a very contented user of vast antivirus on my laptop computer and suffice to say it has really done me proud. It even destroyed a very notorious malware that that used to infect machines under the pretence that it was the "2008 Official Microsft Antivirus" it would run a false test indicating you had viruses(false positive) and ask you to click to download and when you did you got infected.

Avast got rid of it and when I reviewed that particular malware i found out that it had overwhelmed many commercial (expensive) commercial AOL Active shield whose code is basically done by Kaspersky. Check out the links provided and reviews for the Best free Antivirus, but I am basically staying with my favorite Avast Antivirus of which I am but one of sixty million people, who speak 22 different tongues who enjoy and appreciate using it . I hope this helps.

Well, it can be difficult to remove malware after it has infected your system. An anit-virus suite that does an excellent job at protecting users can have problems removing viruses on a badly infected computer. With that being said, the first thing you should do is use a utility designed to do just that. I recommend using the tool found here: http://www.avg.com/filedir/util/avg_rem_sup.dir/vcleaner.exe. To restore your computer, follow these instructions.
Step 1: Download the tool mentioned earlier and the anit-virus program of your choice-I recommend AVG Free Edition. Preferably, you will download these files with a different computer than the one you are trying to fix. Save them in a place where you can access them on the infected computer.
Step 2: Boot the infected computer into Windows Safe Mode. This can be done by repeatedly pressing F8 after turning the computer on before the splash screen comes up. Depending on you motherboard, you may get a screen asking what device you want to boot from (eg, optical drive, hard drive). If this occurrs, select the hard drive Windows is installed on and continue pressing F8. Eventually, before you see the splash screen, you will get a menu asking how you want to boot into Windows. At this screen, select Safe Mode. You will now see some commands scroll across your computer screen, this is normal. Once you are booted into Windows, you will receive a prompt asing if you want to continue. Select "Yes".
Step 3: Go to add/remove programs and uninstall any security software you have installed, as the malware may have damaged it. If you have to reboot your computer, wait for it to shut down and boot back into Safe Mode following the instructions above.
Step 4: Run the program listed above, and follow its instructions to remove your malware.

*It should do the trick, and if it doesn't, you will need to reformat your hard drive to get rid of the viruses, which will include reinstalling Windows and all of your programs and loosing your personal data.*

Step 5: Once you have your malware removed, reboot your computer. You can allow Windows to install normally now, but you should temporarly unplug your internet connection. Once you computer is rebooted, install your security software of choice. Reboot again, plug in your internet cable, and update your security software. Now run one last full scan of your system to remove anything that may be lingering. Congratulations! You computer should now be rid of malware.

Good Luck!

The single best I think is Spybot with TeaTimer. Every time I've gotten a virus, my virus scanner deletes some files, but the virus keeps rearing its head. Spybot and Teatimer have either cleaned my computer or eliminated its effects every single time.

I recommend these in combination with malware bytes. Together they are so good and so easy to use that, together with an antivirus software like McAfee, I don't think there is even need for much else.

On top of using something like ad-aware and Avast, I use a program called tinywatcher. It will tell you every file that has changed between boot ups. You should definitely know if something has been added to your PC.

I personally have used Check Point Zone Alarm Suite for 2 years. My cable company hands it out free, but was using other programs like you. Then I got WIN-32 virus and had to do a total reformat! I tried the Zone Alarm and was so impressed that I purchased the suite with 3 user license --no one in my family has had anymore issues with trojans, viruses, spyware, malware, etc.

Do you want to use free all-in-one anti adware/spyware/malware/virus program??

I tell you that any free-antivirus, whatever is it such as Avira, AVG, Kaspersky, Avast and many more FREE antivirus program having weakness and limited ability to against virus/adware/spyware/malware/worm etc.

But, don't worry !!
Well, as I knew and I have tried, I have tested on my computer and my networking I recommend Norman Security Suite (In this case is Trial Version, cause you want a free program). I tell you if that free-program have a persistent strain of malware and viruses.

Currently I am using Free Trial Version of Norman Security Suite Antivirus Program. You can get that program by link to free trial version of Norman Security Suite below, and follow the steps. You will got your trial code valid for 1 month and of course the installer setup program. After it expired, renew the code by requesting a new code by follow that link above again after you had used it for 1 month.

It all already including personal firewall and anti spyware/worm, you can arrange that feature in step by step wizards when you installing the program. And all you have to do is updating often possible your Norman Security Suite program by connecting to internet directly.

If you have any question, you can ask me via my profile..
Have a nice days..
