If you want access to an electronic book that you already have a hard copy of, you will have to pay an additional fee, unless the book came with a key for access to an electronic version. If it did, it would have instruction on how to activate and a time limit on it.
You may have an easier answer. If your book is available either through ebrary or Safari, your campus or public library may have a subscription. I keep my alumni registration up to day primarily for access to campus library resources. Saves me tons of money at Borders.
If the books you are referencing are old literature, they may be in the public domain. In that case they may be available for free through the Gutenberg project.

Is there a way I can "upload" a book that I own a hard copy of to Google Books?
I am a college student, and for my literature class we are required to read and write about a large number of books. Google books has a couple of the books in question on their site and allows a partial view of the books. They say I can get a full view if I buy the book, but I already own it, its sitting right here. Is there any way I can gain access to the full book on their site so I can quickly find passages and copy/paste without having to buy a second copy of the book?
