Next Question
Quite the opposite.
Well, if you define SEO as just exploiting the search algorithm, or as link-swapping and title tag refinement, perhaps. But if you think of it more broadly, as finding the best way to get your content noticed by the many streams of information seeking people, then it's only going to grow.
The number of ways people have to find information is multiplying. The amount of potential information is growing rapidly. The chance of any particular content of reaching an audience without help is diminishing.
Add to this the things that never change: clients are afraid of technology, nervous about trying search marketing methods on their own. They rarely have to time to really understand how their users might find them. And misconceptions and bad practices will always rise, people will want to make visitors read their bios, CEOs will want pictures of themselves on the front page, whatever. Whoever can take on the job of talking people out of bad ideas and into taking a chance on techniques that work will always have a place in the world of search.

Yeah, I do have a feeling that Crawler based search engines like google will lose its importance in the coming years, which obviously will kill the SEO business.

I believe people will always want to optimize their content for search engines, yet it will lessen as time goes on, so yes it's a dying practice. I do not believe that SEO in its entirety will go away, as there will always be someone who wants to optimize something.
