My favorite is Neil deGrasse Tyson. He's an astrophysicist and deals with mostly theoretical aspects of space, but I consider him a scientist because of the way he studies things and makes conclusions.
The thing I love about him is that he makes even the most complex and boring facts seem so interesting. I've learned a lot from him by just watching videos of him on youtube.

Astronomy is so intriguing to me, and I have always been a huge fan of Stephen Hawking. When I was younger I read A Brief History of Time, From the Big Bang to Black Holes and also A Reader's Companion, and I could actually understand what he was talking about. He has a great ability to take the wildest concepts and ideas and put them into perspective that even a teenager can understand.

I'm a huge fan of Hawking as well. Thanks for the answer and explanation.
I recently watched a documentary about his and can't believe the struggles he has to overcome to simply communicate a word to an assistant. He is definitely an amazing scientist and patient man.

Stephen Hawking. I don't care what your scientific leanings are, he is truly a brilliant mind and phenomenal comunicator, all the while hampered by his severe disabilities. He could just sit and research, and spare himself the torture, but instead he struggles against his maladies to share his discoveries and genius with us "commoners". He is truly amazing.

Thanks for answering. I am also astonished by Hawking's ability to overcome such incredible obstacles to reach the height of respect among "commoners" and scientists alike. I also admire the fact he isn't in love with his own theories and can retract incorrect statements when shown the contradicting facts.
I've run across many a scientist that fell in love with their views rather than in love with the truth.
thanks again.
