Usually the symptoms of Sickle Cell Anemia can be seen on an infant when he is 4 months old.

These are:

1. Periodic episodes of pain.
2. Swollen hands and feet
3. Yellowing of the skin also called "jaundice".
4. Frequent infections
5. Delayed growth in infants and children, delayed puberty in teenagers.
6. has vision problems

Breathlessness
rapid heart rate
delayed growth and puberty
susceptibility to infections
ulcers on the lower legs (in adolescents and adults)
jaundice
attacks of abdominal pain
weakness
joint pain
fever
Vomiting
bloody (hematuria) urination
excessive thirst
excessive penis pain
Priapism
chest pain
decreased fertility
