Very long, and boring.
So boring it actually transcends boring and discovers a new dimension of boring that is impossible to describe. It actually has to be experienced for true understanding.
Now if you can get past that, and trudge through it, it is a good book. It just takes a long while to get to the good stuff.

Salon had an interesting review. Reviewer Andew Leonard talks about a strange world where mathematicians and philosophers are isolated from the rest of the world, and watch civilization rise and fall. He likes it, but says not everyone will.
