Africa is currently colliding with the Eurasian continent.

North and South America are moving slowly westward as a result of the creation new ocean floor along the mid - atlantic ridge. The pacific ocean is growing smaller as a result and eventually asia and north america will meet.

In the past two continents collided and a new place was formed. The two continents that collided in the past were India and Asia. Himalayas was formed as a result of this collision

When were the Himalayas formed? How much energy was created during the collision? Did the continental collision trigger massive earthquakes?
