A hurricane is a type of storm that is created by the rising of moist air. Due to low pressure, trade winds in opposite directions make the vortex spin. As pressure decreases in high altitudes, warm air is sucked and cool air drawn downwards. The speed increases as ,pre air is sucked.
The sea is a large expanse of water, where alot of moist air is found, hence many hurricanes start there. The tropics are just an area with high occurences of hurricanes due to the fulfilment of these properties.. and nearer the equator the warmer it is.

Why do Hurricanes form a vortex?
If warm air rises and releases heat energy and cool air falls creating a heat engine, why does the wind turbulence form a vortex instead of violent swirls of upward and downward wind currents?
