Jupiter is around 4.6 billion years old. It formed along with the entire solar system. Sun and Jupiter are contemporaries. It may be impossible to say which formed first.

Which is older, Jupiter or the Sun?
How do scientist know that the surface of Jupiter is -235 degrees F. If the hydrogen core is 36,000 degree and the atmosphere is gaseous, why is the surface of the planet nearly, as cold as space?
