Where can I find old communications gear/consoles to use as props in a video project?

I need to find some old military looking communications consoles to use in a video project. They don't have to work, they can be banged up, messed up, they don't even have to be communications, but just something in that flook and feel.

Something that looks like this would be ideal. I'm in San Diego so preferably something that is close by since it would be VERY expensive to ship.

Before anyone says DRMO, you have to buy a large lots I believe which is not something that I want to do, unless you know a different way. :)

You can find all kinds of crazy equipment at your local surplus store (check your phone book), or, if you are near a military base you can also try http://www.govliquidation.com

You may want to try to go to a local college or university in the area, and see if they have such equipment.

Call around colleges, phone companies, see if there is any movie props nearby, call the nearby army/navy and ask to borrow or rent rather than to buy. Check with recycling company. If it is too expensive or too hard to transport, consider acting in front of a green screen and add that photo digitally. Consider a long desk with disused computer screens joined by a cardboard prop.

Why not go to Naval Station (NAVSTA) in San Diego and inquire about unused military communications device like that.
