The reason for the removal is simple the European Americans wanted the Indian's land for their economic purposes "By 1837, 46,000 Native Americans from these southeastern nations had been removed from their homelands thereby opening 25 million acres for settlement by European Americans."
This is the removal of the indigenous people of America from off their own lands to an Indian territory. This was done by President Andrew Jackson in the year 1831 and an act was pass for this "Indian Removal Act of 1830". The removal involved the "Five Civilized Tribes" Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Muscogee-Creek, and Seminole.
