Kaminal juyu - Stela 11, from 200 B.C., Guatemala.
Stela 11 is a relief sculpture which depicts one of the first Maya rulers as a divinity. He stands between a bird on the top of the monument and the open mouth of an earthly creature beneath his feet.
This particular portrayal of the ruler, who wears an avian mask, indicates his role as the spiritual bridge between the heavens and the underworld. The Stela stresses the Maya concept of divine kingship and belong to the late Maya Pre-Classic period on Kaminal juyu around 200 B.C.

Kaminal juyu - Stela 10, from 50 B.C., Guatemala.
Stela 10 is a broken relief altar-table or perhaps a throne (its definition is still unclear today), it consist of four large fragments from a single block cemented together depicting precisely carved figures and glyphs, it represents the most massive and elaborated example of an altar-table on Kaminal juyu.
The scene portrays a winged figure in the first place, perhaps a mythological monster, the Muan, who is grabbing a flint tool in his rising left hand; he appears highly feather-dressed and eccentrically carved. A hair knot, like an ornamental bird-comb identifies him as the predecessor of the underworld jaguar god of the classic period. Below appears a partially erased woman figure, probably kneeling and stopping an object which is also erased. This Stela belong to the Izapa/ IV style, early Arenal phase, from 50 B.C. to 50 A.D.
