Basically two entirely different things.

The corona is largely a magnetic feature and the accretion disk is a gravitational feature.

The amount of energy the sun creates by converting mass falling into it into energy is negligible, almost nothing, really, compared to the nuclear fusion at its core. Mass falling in (rocks, asteroids, comets) is not converted to energy via E=MC^2.

Interesting article on the corona the other day, however. They think they've solved why it's a million degrees:

Why is the Corona of the Sun millions of degrees?

Is there magnetic loops from the surface of the sun to the Corona?

If hydrogen matter from space falls into the Sun accretion disk then the matter would be convert into energy and result in millions of degrees of temperature. The additional power source may be dark current according to the electric sun theory.
