Though we can never know accurately how many types of submarines or how many any country would have as it tend to be information relating to national security and has strategic importance .
as i googled i found a website classifying few russian submarines and comparing it with US counterparts i thought this information might help you.
and they are classified into 7 types . please note that these submarines classified here are probably from coldwar era not latest and those 7 types are
1.PLARB ( Atomnaya Podvodnaya Lodka Raketnaya Ballisticheskaya) which is a Nuclear-powered Ballistic Missile Submarine
2.PLRB ( Podvodnaya Lodka Raketnaya Ballisticheskaya ) which is a Non nuclear Ballistic Missile Submarine
3.PLARK ( Atomnaya Podvodnaya Lodka Raketnaya Krylataya) which is a Nuclear-powered Cruise-Missile Submarine
4.PLRK/PLK ( Podvodnaya Lodka Raketnaya Krylataya ) which is a Cruise-Missile Submarine which is powered by diesel and other non-nuclear fuels
5.PLA ( Atomnaya Podvodnaya Lodka ) which is a Nuclear-powered Submarine
6.PL/PLD (Podvodnaya Lodka ) which is a Diesel-powered Submarine
7.PL/AS are special and midget submarines
