How would you define Mathematics?
I took over the page on Mathematics a while back.
I tried and failed to find a good snappy definition on what mathematics actually is.
Can anyone find or create a definition which is...
a) Brief - no more than a few sentences
b) Accurate - covering the range of things that make up mathematics
c) Understandable - no point in having a definition that only makes sense to people that already know a great deal of math!

I'm not entirely sure if it's comprehensive... but this sure sounds good.

Yes, I'm not sure it does justice to things like logic, geometry and topology.
