How about the classic lemon battery? All you need is some some wire, nails, some pennies and some lemons. Oh, and a light bulb or something else that proves that there is current, like a multimeter.

You can do the same thing with a lime, an orange or a grapefruit.
Side note, If you didn't want to stick with fruit, you can also use a potato.
