Pyramid of Cheops, or Khufu, also named The Great Pyramid of Giza.

The Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacán is considered one of the largest in Mesoamerica. It is the third largest pyramid in the world behind the Great Pyramid of Cholula and the Great Pyramid of Giza. The Pyramid of the Sun dates its construction back to 100 A.D.

The Pyramids of Giza are considered the tallest pyramids in the world, in particular the Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu or Great Pyramid of Giza), which is regarded as the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in Giza, the tallest in the world and the only survivor of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. The Great Pyramid dates back to 3.200 B.C.

• Do you find that the base dimensions of the Pyramid of the Sun interesting when comparing to the pyramid of Giza? Was there an Egyptian influence in the design?

Yes, but the similar base dimensions are purely coincidential. There was no Egyptian influence in the design of the Pyramid of the Sun, 1.300 years set them apart. There is no correlation because at the time the Teotihuacán pyramid was built, the Egyptian pyramid builders were long gone.

Khafre´s pyramid was build some time between 2558 and 2532 B.C., during the 4th-dynasty under pharaoh Khafre, he was the son of Khufu.

Khufu’s Pyramid was built some years before, just at the time he ascended to the throne in 2551 B.C.
