I have had a Great Pyramid fetish for some time and looked at many of the various theories about it. There are several oddities that are not commonly known, without taking a lot of time to rehash sources I will outline them.

It has none of the usual hieroglyphs of most Egyptian monuments, there are only about 3 symbols or markings in it. There were quarry marks in the stress relieving chambers above the King's Chamber that seem to indicate the Pharaoh Cheops or Khufu, these are rough painted hieroglyphs.

There is a marking at the original entrance that resembles the astrological symbol for Leo, which is translated as "horizon," and there is a raised "boss" at the entrance to the King's Chamber that resembles a rising sun, or half a semi-circle. Its not clear if this is a symbol or a handle to help raise the beam over the door. Upon entering this chamber there are three low beams that make the person entering bow three times.

As the Egyptian religion revolved around Ra the sun god, it seems likely that this Pyramid is related to this worship. The Great Pyramid is precisely aligned with true North, which could be determined by using shadows to find the exact midday when the sun is directly overhead.

From Wikipedia, Quote: "A few hundred meters south-west of the Great Pyramid lies the slightly smaller Pyramid of Khafre, one of Khufu's successors who is also commonly considered the builder of the Great Sphinx" Unquote.

Though the Sphinx is located in front of the Great Pyramid and faces the sunrise to the East, many researchers believe there is an underground passage from it running to the latter, and somewhere in between the "Hall of Records" alleged by Edgar Cayce the psychic, to be the lost records of Atlantis. There have been various legal and illicit digs in this area that have alleged secret finds with mystical revelations, such as a 'well' with a sarcophagus surrounded by acidic water (shades of Tomb Raider!)

The Sphinx, which has the body of a lion with a disproportionately small head of a Pharaoh, is believed by some to originally have a larger lion head. The astrological sign of Leo is also ruled by the Sun, the star symbolized by the Egyptian hieroglyph for the same, a circle with a dot in the middle.

The base to height dimensions have a relationship to pi and some think also phi, the Golden Ratio. The dimensions of the 'sarcophagus' in the King's Chamber has been alleged to be identical to the Ark of the Covenant, a mystical box of great power associated with Moses and the Exodus, supposedly the latter would fit in the former precisely, based on cubit dimensions given in the Bible.

I recently came upon a book that mentions there is a stele, or monument with inscriptions written by the Egyptians, that seems to detail a Moses like figure, that was a foreign priest trusted by the Pharaoh and allowed to practice in their temples. In a time when they were having one of many invasions, this priest led an insurrection, looted many valuables of gold & jewelry, and stole the 'Holy of Holies' from the Great Pyramid. This could indicate that the Ark of the Covenant was actually stolen--like the Bible indicates the Jews took gold & jewels from them during the Exodus, which they later melted to make the golden bull "god" which angered Moses and caused a fiasco.

The Ark of the Covenant allegedly had a "hologram" like apparition of "God" above it and could emit bolts of electricity which struck handlers dead at times, besides giving advice. There were elaborate layers of leather and cloth that handler wore to carry it, and it was always shielded from the masses by elaborate tents.

The biblical description sounds like an alien artifact out of Star Trek, and if any of the above history is true, then perhaps the original purpose of the Great Pyramid was as a secure repository for this device, which might have been an extraterrestrial "monolith" sent down to educate us. Some others believe it just contained a meteorite or quartz crystal with electrostatic properties. It has also been noted that the King's Chamber has a scorched interior as if great amounts of energy affected the stone, and there is still no logical explanation of the shafts leading from the chambers to the outside, which are blocked at various points.

Another interpretation of the Pyramids at Giza correlated them to the pattern of several stars in the vicinity of Sirius... Wikipedia Quote: "... Hancock and Bauval, who believe that the Great Pyramid incorporates star shafts 'locked in' to Orion's Belt and Sirius..." Unquote, and others have stated that viewed from above, the several pyramids are laid out in this formation of these stars, which have also been associated with esoteric knowledge of the Dogon tribe in Niger, who seem to know of an invisible dwarf star in this constellation only recently discovered by powerful telescopes, knowledge of which they were allegedly told by extraterrestrials.

My theory is that this monument was created by a diaspora of extraterrestrials with an internal symbolism (star map) to show either were they came from of where they were heading, leaving the device from the Ark of the Covenant as a governing and educational leader to maintain their civilization, which was perhaps lost to a global calamity. Moses messed up this plan taking the device into the desert, but it was later used by the Israelis to build their empire, as it was a bit of a supercomputer/weapon that helped them win impossible battles. It was later lost to history, though Ethiopians claim to have it in a temple there, having been moved there when the Jewish temple was destroyed by the Romans first century CE.

The Egyptians later revolved their society around the Great Pyramid as a sun worshiping culture and the Sphinx was part of this later symbolism. Though there are much simpler and mundane explanations for this all as the basics of their religion, its fun to speculate...

PS. I would be remiss if not mentioning the other prevalent mystical theory that the Great Pyramid is related to the Masons and the New World Order, with the pyramid on the U.S. dollar and other American masonic symbols, though that's another lengthy subject!

The book, "Secret of the Sphinx" indicates that the Sphinx is pointing to the Leo constellation in a 25,000 year cycle. What is important about the Leo constellation?

The idea was the pyramids pointed about the North Star and other constellations, Orion, and Sirus, a giant astronomical clock.

The Sphinx pointing to the East suggest a Deity will return from the East.

The message seems to be that a restoring or gathering of information will be occurring in the future.

The Ark seems to work like a giant super capacitor discharging massive cosmic energy, at times.

Your suggesting that Pi was discovered through the fractal recursive pattern of the Golden Ratio. Pi is essential for all geometric polar equations of curves, solids, spheres, cylinders, and non rectangular shapes.

You make the Sphinx seem like a powerful entity. Will you be more direct about what your trying to say?

Some people think the Sphinx was a mythical creature and other people think the Sphinx was a person.

The Ark was created from Gold and acadia wood in Saudi Arabi. The Holy of Holies, referenced was used for worship of the egyptian God Atum-ra, the father God creator. The Hebrew Ark had nothing to do with the Egyptian Holy of Holies.

Atum-ra Creator described environmental changes and transformations rather than creation process. Mose wrote in Genesis explains of the errors passed on by the pagan belief system of atum-ra. I think the Egyptians used religious symbolism to explain astronomical patterns and cycles. Look to Egyptian technology for explanations of astronomy and solar cycles.

Imhotep was the grand architect of many dynasty of pharaohs as they attempt to complete the Milky way projection of the Universe by placement of the pyramids. The location of Giza fits the three stars of Orion in the projection. The pyramids of Giza were used to watch the cycle of the sun, point due east, sirius, ursa major and minor, and orion. Imhotep understanding of astronomy was being pass through the generations of Pharaho through their pyramids.

The Sphinx is the guardian of the pyramid.

-quote-

"The Sphinx was carved over 4,500 years ago. It was for the Pharaoh Khafre. It had his head, the body of a lion. The Sphinx was carved out of a huge big stone. It is guarding Khafre's pyramid. The Sphinx was covered by sand which preserved it all these years. Its body is extremely soft rock and its head is very strong rock but some people used the head for gunshot practice. No one knows for sure what it was decorated with in the days of the Ancient Egyptians but it must have been very beautiful then."

After a little more research, I found a better link that demonstrates some of what I'm saying. Also I should note that when I mentioned pi and phi it was in regards to the Great Pyramid and not the Sphinx... here's a Wikipedia Quote: "Their initial claims regarding the alignment of the Giza pyramids with Orion ("…the three pyramids were an unbelievably precise terrestrial map of the three stars of Orion's belt"— Hancock's Fingerprints of the Gods, 1995, p. 375) are later joined with speculation about the age of the Great Sphinx (Hancock and Bauval, Keeper of Genesis, published 1997 in the U.S. as The Message of the Sphinx). According to these works, the Great Sphinx was constructed circa 10,500 BC, and its lion-shape is maintained to be a definitive reference to the constellation of Leo. Furthermore, the orientation and dispositions of the Sphinx, the Giza pyramids and the Nile River relative to one another on the ground is put forward as an accurate reflection or "map" of the constellations of Leo, Orion (specifically, Orion's Belt) and the Milky Way respectively. As Hancock puts it in 1998's The Mars Mystery (co-authored with Bauval):
...we have demonstrated with a substantial body of evidence that the pattern of stars that is "frozen" on the ground at Giza in the form of the three pyramids and the Sphinx represents the disposition of the constellations of Orion and Leo as they looked at the moment of sunrise on the spring equinox during the astronomical "Age of Leo" (i.e., the epoch in which the Sun was "housed" by Leo on the spring equinox.) Like all precessional ages this was a 2,160-year period. It is generally calculated to have fallen between the Gregorian calendar dates of 10,970 and 8810 BC. (op. cit., p.189)" Unquote http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orion_Correlation_Theory
